It separates and leaves a white crusty mess that you have to chip away to clean up. sometimes the crustiness binds up what the grease is supposed to be lubricating. Anti seize is great, regular chassis grease and wheel bearing grease also work well.

It'll also keep parts from sticking together but not as well as anti-seize. It'll work for most sticking together type situations but if you are working with metals
Learn Moreanti-seize: essentially, they are two-part systems comprised of a base grease that serves to lubricate parts up to maximum temperature rating of the grease (usually about 350° f.) secondly, the grease acts as a carrier for special fillers that provide the compound with its anti-seizing, anti-corrosion properties under high pressures and at
Learn More14/09/ · Anti-seize is available at some bicycle stores, hardware stores, or automotive parts stores. Grease can be used in place of anti-seize, but anti-seize is more durable and provides better lubrication during tightening. Apply this only to the threads. It works by leaving the solids in place if the grease is removed by heat/water/movement. The grease is just a means of delivering the solids, and is actually a low temperature product.
Learn MoreAnti-seize pastes is like grease, but contains much less oil, always has solid lubricating particles and has a much lower bleed rate and so isn't as good a lubricant. So, if you tighten parts, use an anti-seize paste - eg nuts & bolts - if you want to remove them more easily when it comes to undoing them. Use grease if the part needs to be
